When a DISASTER STRIKES Vessels of Mercy International responds and so can you!

Jesus said anyone who gives a cup of water in His name will be rewarded (Mark 9:41). Vessels of Mercy, Intl. Disaster Relief Team offers more than just a cup of water. Many organizations reach out to those with desperate physical needs. The difference with Vessels of Mercy, Intl. is we also always try to share the Good News about Jesus Christ. We offer LIVING WATER. Jesus promised, “Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life” (John 4:14). A cup of water can only satisfy one. Millions are thirsty. When we work together in the compassion of Christ . . . it can become a river . . . that refreshes the poor and suffering. Join our team and be ready to respond to disasters when they happen.

Every year we offer immediate assistance to victims of war, poverty, natural disaster and disease, both stateside and internationally. Coordinating with other relief agencies, we provide food, water, clothing, medical assistance, practical disaster aid, and relief service.

We are currently recruiting volunteers – both men and women with a strong faith commitment who are able to participate in emergency response on short notice with varied talents and skills. Some jobs require hard, manual labor under adverse conditions, such as cutting trees, moving debris, cleaning out and repairing homes. Less strenuous, but still important tasks include cooking, maintaining equipment, and general work as needed.

We have found that God will use the disaster relief ministry to accomplish more than we can dream. He will do Godsized things in His time. Only eternity will tell all that God has accomplished with just a “cup of cold water.” The cup of cold water may have expressed itself as a meal, repaired roof, cleaned yard, a sympathetic listener, or clear presentation of the plan of salvation.

The key will be the disaster relief volunteer’s willingness to be prepared. Yes, he or she must be mentally and physically prepared. Please remember, disaster relief is more than just physical service rendered. The goal is always to have a spiritual impact upon the people and community affected by a disaster.
