Operation Homefront-Serving our Veterans
You can be a part of delivering hope to our veterans in November.
Vessels of Mercy Intl. is again serving our veterans here in RVA. On November 11, we observe Veteran’s Day to honor our military veterans that have served in the United States Armed Forces. There are 18.8 million veterans in the U.S. Of that number, 4.7 million are reported to have a service-connected disability. Soldiers often return from the field wounded, disabled, and left to fend for themselves with little help from family or the government. Will you help us deliver a bit of hope? We need individuals, small groups, and civic clubs to help us provide items for our goodie bags for those who have been forgotten or forsaken and confined to the hospital or nursing home. Goodie bags will be delivered to the designated recipients the week of November 11 in honor of Veterans Day! This list, available at the websites below, is approved for this project (generic brands are acceptable). Please purchase your items so that all bags will be gender-neutral. Contact our office if you want to be a part of the team that will pack and deliver the bags. For more details on this outreach and a complete list of items needed, go to https://vesselsofmercy.org/wp-content/uploads/Veterans-Bags-2023-1.pdf or visit our shopping list on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2OGEKWP48L7IE?ref_=wl_share and items will be sent directly to our office. Join us, and let’s offer thanks for their service.
